The buffet breakfast is modest but good, with a small selection of cheese and cold cuts, tomatoes, cucumber and pickles, a hot plate with scrambled eggs and sausages, fruit, bread and pastries. The breakfast room is opposite the reception, but guests can eat out on the terrace as well. A café on the ground floor, with dark red walls and plush red or grey sofas and armchairs, serves good coffee, more than 40 types of tea, Slovenian and international wines, and snacks. It also hosts live music every Wednesday night.

There are some very good restaurants almost on the doorstep, such as the excellent Slovenska Hiša Figovec, on Gosposvetska cesta, which serves delicious traditional Slovenian dishes with modern flair. Barbarella Juice Bar is a great little vegan eatery, just around the corner on Slovenska cesta.
