The Masked Singer returned to Fox on Wednesday – after a two-week break for the World Series – with a two-hour double episode where fans saw all of the remaining contestants compete and two of them get unmasked. Both the Penguin and the Black Widow were revealed, and judge Jenny McCarthy had no trouble figuring out who was in the Penguin costume, while Robin Thicke seemingly knew the identity of the Black Widow all along.
Warning: Spoilers Ahead
During the first hour, fans saw six contestants perform – the Rottweiler, Ladybug, Tree, Penguin, the Flower, and the Fox. Unfortunately for the Penguin, she received the least amount of votes for her performance of Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass. And, when she took off her mask, it was revealed that the Penguin was none other than Sherri Shepherd, McCarthy’s former co-host on The View.

Shepherd told Entertainment Weekly that she was worried the entire time about McCarthy recognizing her because they know each other so well. And, once she found out that she had been cast on the show, Shepherd went to great lengths to try and fool her.
Shepherd revealed that she went to New York to take a bunch of pictures and videos, so if McCarthy texted her during the performances on The Masked Singer, she could respond with claims of being in the Big Apple.
“Like when I was getting ready [to go on at Masked Singer], she’s like, ‘Where are you?’ And I said, ‘Girl, I told you I’m in New York. Stop bothering me cause I’m doing publicity in New York for my show,’” said Shepherd.
When she was on stage, Shepherd did everything she could to hide “Sherri’s movements” because McCarthy knows them all. However, once she got the costume on it wasn’t easy, and her friends told her that if the Penguin wasn’t her, then she needed to sue because someone stole her walk.
Before the Penguin’s unmasking, McCarthy guessed it was Shepherd, but she was still pleasantly surprised when she got it right.
During hour two, the five other remaining contestants performed – Black Widow, Thingamajig, Butterfly, Leopard, and Flamingo. After Black Widow’s performance of the Cher song Believe, she received the least amount of votes.
The entire season, judge Robin Thicke has been saying that the Black Widow was Raven-Symone, and he doubled down and said it again right before the unmasking. Thicke explained that he wrote a song for Raven for her This Is My Time album, and of course, he was right.

Raven says that she didn’t think her identity would be so obvious to Thicke.
“I was afraid he wouldn’t remember me,” said Raven. “When he wrote that song, he wasn’t the Robin Thicke that Blurred Lines created. I didn’t keep in contact with him, so I didn’t know if he remembered or not. But it warmed my heart that he did remember me because I enjoyed that experience. I searched him out for that album because of his first album that I utterly enjoyed. I was very happy that he remembered.”
