Plus-Size fashion has blown up massively within the last couple of years, and this year is no different. Nike, the global sportswear brand has released their first plus-size range aimed to fit perfectly-to-size for the curvier woman.
The athletic brand dropped their line earlier this month with crop tops, sports-bras, leggings and jumpers coming in the sizes X-3XL and the sports bras going up to size 38E – Hallelujah.
However, not everyone has viewed this release as a positive one like we have at CelebMix. Th
e advertisement campaign was quick to come under fire by harsh critics and trolls by fat shaming the ladies that collaborated with Nike.
One of the models, Grace Victory, who is a YouTube and blogging body positivity guru hits back at the critics with a short, sharp message to the haters. “Fat shaming me and my girl on our Nike campaign is hilarious. We be laughing all the damn way to the bank.”
Plus size clothing is no different to making ranges for petite or tall people. People come in all different shapes and sizes and everyone has the right to have clothes that fit them well and make them feel great.
People need to open their minds and accept that the industry is promoting equality, not obesity!
